I'm interested in topics in the intersection of technology, design and society:
generative systems, moving images, participation, free software, cryptography and p2p networks.
Right now I'm working in deriva.mx a transmedia
project approaching structural violence in Mexico through cinema and interaction.
I also teach a university course at CENTRO,

Reverbo | 2017
Emotional home appliance that reorganizes the sound of conversations according to the structure of certain rhetorical figures.

Reverbo is an emotional home appliance that reorganizes the sound of conversations, inviting the listener to explore new meanings
in their altered words. Use Reverbo with any kind of dialogue: chats with friends, couple discussions, psychoanalisis sessions, family gatherings or for you to speak to yourself.
Reverbo has three states which are activated with the rotation of the object:
Wait (the device is ready for an action).
Listen (Reverbo records).
Speak (Reverbo reorginices the sound of the last recording and plays it).
On the ‘Speak’ state Reverbo has four different modes to reorganize speech based on common rhetorical figures:
Alliteration: Reverbo generates an infinite sermon repeating words and syllables.
Diastole and systole: The sporadic compression and dilation of words reveal or hide it’s details and intentions.
Cacophony: Frenetic dissonance from the repetition of syllables.
Onomatopoeia: Words are fragmented and transformed into percussive sounds.
Aposiopesis: Reverbo omits words and fragments, the sparse reproduction of sound leaves place for prolonged reflections.
